What in the world?!
I've been meaning to get round to starting a blog for a long time now. And though I'll probably start this one and finish it just as quickly I'd like to think I can finally get the energy to say what I've been meaning to get out of my system for ages.
So anyway here I am in corporate land, stuck at a desk , in a 9 to 5 job. I'm actually a graphic designer/techy geeky nerdy type fella with a penchant for DJ'ing and anything creative involving photoshop and flash.
So what am I doing in corporate land you might ask? well I fell into it, following a job with the evil pharmaceutical giant I sold my soul to the devil and ended up building websites for an insurance company who subsequently got swallowed up by one of the 'big 3' banks.
I'm a fish out of water for sure, and I'm barely afloat. I've created a position whereby I'm completely stuck and have no idea how to get out!, I've a mortgage to pay and a life to lead as well, but day after day I question why the hell I'm doing this.
So we've been considering a life abroad, a new place to call home, selling up and leaving it all behind, god only knows what that'll be like. I just can't see a future here in the UK, its becoming such a totalitatarian 'nanny' state and so much of your income goes to one tax or another, its truly depressing to know I'm paying as much in tax now than I actually earnt 8 years ago.
So for now I escape into the murky world of the internet or just shut it all away and go out with the family my one true joy. My daughter is 12 now though so that'll end soon and then it'll be just the two of us again, which'll be entertaining hehe
Anyway I shall post more, far more often than I should as no doubt I should be compiling a 42 page document on why meetings are important, until then keep safe.
